Austin Dog Alliance Kids Programs
Austin Dog Alliance offers numerous summer camps and programs for children that love dogs. Students will learn about dog breeds, dog training techniques, puppy training, dog first aid, and even how to read dog body language.
Camps are limited to 12 children to make sure there is enough focus on one-on-one instruction. All camps are taught by a combination of elementary school teachers and certified professional dog trainers. In addition, all camp instructors are certified in canine and human first aide and CPR.
Austin Dog Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Its mission is to enhances lives of individuals and families in the community through therapeutic programs that incorporate the powerful and timeless bond between dogs and humans.
Pet therapy (aka “animal-assisted therapy” or AAT) uses animals that are highly trained along with professional handlers in order to specific physical, social, cognitive and emotional goals with patients and students. Studies have proven that human interaction with a pet can lower blood pressure, improve survival rates for heart-attack victims and releases endorphins. Austin Dog Alliance specializes in using AAT to help patients and teach students.
